
China and Taiwan agree on RMB clearing
Taiwan’s central bank has agreed with its counterpart in China to create renminbi clearing in Taiwan. Trade settlements could shoot up to $12 billion by the end of the year as a result.

What: The Central Bank of the Republic of China has signed a memorandum of understanding with the People’s Bank of China to establish renminbi clearing in Taiwan. It becomes live is just under two months.
