Australian central bank explores CBDC use cases and partnerships

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) is working with two of the country’s largest banks and other fintech partners on a number of central bank digital currency (CDBC) pilots. In a release published last week, the central bank revealed a list of industry partners involved in its research, which explores at least 14 potential use cases for a digital Australian dollar. Proposed application includes use across offline payments, asset trading, corporate bond settlement and tokenised FX settlement.
