The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) on the weekend announced the completion of the first phase of Project Ensemble, an initiative focused on wholesale central bank digital currencies (wCBDC) and tokenisation in finance. Since its launch in March, Project Ensemble has been testing digital asset use cases through a regulatory “sandbox,” a controlled environment for experimentation.
