
Hong Kong, Singapore banks progress transferrable tokenised deposits
Several banks are exploring token transfers between systems and tackling interoperability concerns, including through Project Ensemble which is entering a new phase in 2026.

Several banks based in Hong Kong and Singapore have tested interbank transferability of tokenised bank deposits, which are blockchain-based deposit tokens that promise greater payment efficiency and programmability.
