
Hong Kong public firms spent HK$7bn in 2022 on employee share plans
Offering incentives and sense of ownership to employees, Hong Kong-listed firms, especially those in IT and healthcare, have been issuing shares to staff.

Around 84% of Hong Kong-listed firms have integrated employee share plans into their remuneration strategy, with a total spending around HK$72 billion ($9.2 billion) in 2022, according to a recent report.
