The initial phase, which allows PromptPay QR code payments to be used by foreign tourists, will be live in a few weeks. Krungthai Bank will act as the settlement bank.

Singapore-headquartered fintech firm Ant International said it has been working with Thailand’s National ITMX, operator of the country’s domestic real-time payment rail PromptPay, on a connection between international digital wallets and its network.
