According to a Manila-based treasury consultant, finance departments need to use their relationship-building skills to maximise their business prospects.
Mike San Diego, strategic finance and treasury consultant for MSD, a Manila-based consultancy, spoke at CT’s Corporate Treasury and CFO Summit in the Philippines last month and highlighted three steps treasurers and CFOs should follow in managing relationships. He said the skills required to develop relationships were important, and that finance workers shouldn’t simply focus on accounting and finance skills.
