Taiwan's regulator mulls giving lenders the power to check a borrower's derivatives exposure as defaults on derivatives contracts pile up.

Taiwan's financial markets watchdog, the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC), is considering giving banks the power to check companies’ target redemption forwards (TRF) contracts and other derivatives trading records before extending credit facilities, Taiwan’s Economic Daily News (EDN) reported on March 7.
