Siam Cement’s ASEAN expansion
Siam Cement CFO, Chaovalit Ekabut, tells CT about the company's plans in Myanmar and tiered financial nature of ASEAN countries.
Thailand's second largest company, Siam Cement Group (SCG), announced in July its plans to invest $400 million to build a plant in Myanmar’s Mawlamyine, 300 kilometers southeast of Yangon. The news comes only three months after it told the market it will invest $370 million in a plant in Laos expected to be operational in 2017.
