Say what you like about the global financial crisis, but for some companies it has been a windfall. Those finance companies that have capital and can provide it to others unconstrained by new capital rules or historic bad debts have done well. And as the capital screws tighten on big banks – and insurance companies – alternative providers of capital will do better in the future.
