On the October 30, Wee Sing Guan, the former CFO of Sembcorp Marine, the world’s second largest maker of oil rigs, was sentenced to prison in Singapore for 39 months after pleading guilty for foreign exchange fraud that resulted in S$303 million ($233 million) of losses and almost sank a unit of the company in 2007.
