Defining cash: Microsoft’s challenge
It’s hard to believe it took almost 500 hours and three months for Microsoft’s treasury team to come up with a unified definition of cash, but there you go.
The subject of defining cash came about last year when George Zinn, Microsoft treasurer, asked his three lieutenants the following question: “How much cash do we have today?”
