
US inflation jumps to 3.8% amid Middle East tensions; Senate confirms Kevin Warsh for Fed governor
April's US inflation reading was the highest since May 2023. The Philippines has also been hit with inflation of 7.2% in April as the result of the high oil price as the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked.

Inflation in the US jumped to 3.8% in April, the highest level in the country since May 2023, amid continued tensions in the Middle East, with the global oil price and US gas/petrol prices soaring.
