European bank capital reserve requirement exemptions on trade finance were hard won, but a senior banker at HSBC is doubtful whether the Bank of England will apply the Basel III friendlier rules.
No trade finance exemptions for British banks?

The European parliament passed the CRD (Capital Requirements Directive) IV exemptions on new Basel III trade finance regulations on April 16; however, some trade finance bankers speculate the exemptions won’t apply to UK-based banks.
