Indonesian accounting bodies have reaffirmed their commitment to fully converge with international reporting standards, but a lack of qualified accountants in the country could pose problems.

Indonesia has finally decided to bite the accounting bullet. The Institute of Indonesia Chartered Accountants (IAI), The Trustee of the IFRS Foundation and The Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK) said on May 25 that they intend to push forward with plans to converge with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), although no firm date has been set.
