The Reserve Bank of India has further pushed its plan to get the whole country’s payment and settlement system onto an electronic platform. But the plan, called Vision 2018, does not oblige companies to comply.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released a plan it calls Vision 2018 – a mission to make all of India’s payment and settlement systems electronic. Generically, Vision 2018 focuses on coverage, convenience, confidence, convergence and cost, or what the RBI calls the “5 Cs”.
