
Indian rupee in painful three-month decline
The last three months have shown a sharp decline in the value of the rupee against the dollar.

Since February 27, the Indian rupee has declined 11.44% against the US dollar according to Bloomberg data compiled on May 28. The rupee’s sharp depreciation has been driven by a strong combination of fragile domestic fundamentals and an overall decline in risk appetite, analysts argue.
