
In Accenture’s editable blockchain, consensus required
Accenture has announced a prototype for an editable blockchain, but the company says it is for extreme circumstances only.
Accenture’s editable blockchain will be used in permissioned systems only and in extreme circumstances when all the actors involved agree an edit is necessary, according to an executive at the multinational financial services consultancy.
“Think of it as the nuclear launch key. No single person has that key, there has to be agreement, and pretty strong agreement between parties to push that button. The same applies here,” Chris Brodersen, capital markets research manager for Accenture Financial Services, told CT in a phone interview.
