Amtek Engineering Ltd, manufacturer of metal, plastic and rubber components, announced a boatload of new executives on May 25 including a new deputy CFO, 29-year-old Jocelin Soon Swee Har, effective July 1. She joins alongside current CFO, Sheila Ng Won Lein.
Amtek, founded in the 1970’s, was taken private in 2007 by a partnership of private equity firm CVC Capital Partners and Standard Chartered’s private equity firm. It relisted in December 2010 on the Singapore Stock Exchange.
Amtek recently announced a sharp decline in net profit for the end of 2011. It fell 39% to $8 million compared to 2010, due to lower sales of its mass storage products.
Soon is an internal hire who is currently titled vice president of finance and joint company secretary. She will continue to function as joint company secretary while in her new role. Soon worked as group finance manager for Banyan Tree Holdings Limited from 2009 to 2010 and as an audit manager for Ernst & Young from 2004 to 2009.
